I am an experienced yoga instructor . . .
who has been teaching for 15+ years and whose classes are often described as fun, sweaty and soulful. My teaching style combines a strong Vinyasa Flow intended to build strength, flexibility and body awareness with creative sequencing and precise alignment. And as a new mama myself who practiced throughout my pregnancy, I welcome expecting and new parents. Classes are both safe for newer students and challenging for more experienced yogis, and above all are intended to help awaken each of us to a higher sense of purpose in our lives, and to mobilize the yoga and consciousness community around sustainability and wellbeing for all.
I believe that yoga can be a powerful incubator for reaffirming our commitment to living a life of purpose and meaning, deepening our connection to a community of like-minded and heart-centered people, and committing to transformative action and sustainable service out in the world. Most recently, I was the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Community Building for HAUM Yoga SF, the Bay Area’s premier yoga studio committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming and diverse environment for everyone to experience “coming home” to their true nature. Prior to that, I managed the Journeys Program for the Pachamama Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world that is socially just, environmentally sustainable, and spiritually fulfilling for all beings. I also oversaw the Seva Challenge: a leadership, international service, and fundraising program for the non-profit Off the Mat, Into the World, where we raised more than $4 million for local humanitarian projects and communities in crisis around the world. I have also managed business partnerships with Conservation International working with Fortune 500 companies in the tourism industry to reduce their environmental impact, volunteered for two years with an indigenous community in the Amazon Rainforest, trained Peace Corps volunteers preparing for international service, and implemented a human rights education campaign for urban youth with Amnesty International.
I have a master's degree from the American University School of International Service in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, with a focus on Sustainable Development. I'm a two-term Lululemon Ambassador and resident instructor with Deep House Yoga SF, Outdoor Yoga SF, and Daybreaker SF. I also have taught specialized classes bridging yoga with service and embodied leadership at Wanderlust Squaw Valley, Wanderlust 108 San Francisco, Conscious San Jose Festival, and Wisdom 2.0.
I have completed 1000+ hours of training and am certified in Hatha/Vinyasa, Bhakti Yoga, Yoga for Social Justice, Yoga Therapeutics, Trauma Informed Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids, and more. I am grateful for my primary teachers over more than two decades of study including Stephanie Snyder, Rusty Wells, Janet Stone, Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, Suzanne Sterling, Kerri Kelly, Harvey Deutch, Annie Carpenter, Judith Hanson Lasater, Jane Austin, Sharon Gannon & David Life, Bentley Storm, Yogrishi Vishvketu, Dhanurdhara Swami, and Amba & Don Stapleton.
TESTIMONIALS
Rebecca was a great instructor and I enjoyed the way she taught class! The music was amazing and I enjoyed how she shared quotes at the beginning and end of the practice. This was so inspiring and I will definitely attend her class again!
Always offers wonderful accommodations especially for those who are pregnant! Truly helpful!
Rebecca is very gifted and a skilled teacher. She opens the class to develop a sense of community to introduce ourselves to each other. We focus on breath work the beginning of class and set an intention. What a great way to start the flow! Every class is different- the flows are never the same. She also takes requests for what the class would like to work on.
Always love her class... every time is different. We develop a sense of community with each other by introducing ourselves to one another in the beginning of class. Rebecca will take requests for whichever body parts we want to work on.
Rebecca’s classes weave the heart, body and soul together so seamlessly. Just enough physical burn to feel good about the exercise and always a relevant dialogue around intentions towards the spiritual work. Great teacher!
Incredible instructor and space
the singing was so healing
Instructor was kind and attentive, great flow and energy. Completely full class!
I love the fact that Rebecca always ask the class what we would like to work on for the next hour. We start off with chanting and breathing exercises. Along with who or what we would like to dedicate the class to.
she is such a good instructor!!
Rebecca’s class was AMAZING!!
Rebecca was a great teacher. Just the right amount of flow and heat. The space as beautiful as well. I will definitely be back.
I love how the instructor combined challenging and alternative movements to include pregnant women in their practices.
I came to Rebecca’s class with absolutely zero yoga experience. Despite this I thoroughly enjoyed the class and left the class feeling energized.
Loved the breath work in the beginning of class and music played. Great way to start off the class! Thanks for subbing today! A good flow! Rebecca follows your requests for what the students would like to work on.
Rebecca is very inclusive, intuitive, and helpful. I’m new to yoga and wobbly, but I received a just-right amount of support.
My favorite class at Yogaflow Noe! Rebecca is amazing! 💛
Well paced and thorough workout
Rebecca was fantastic. She incorporated some music into the practice, which was fun and relaxing. Singing along to Lean on Me in pigeon pose is surprisingly effective!
Beautiful interior studio. Rebecca and her harmonium are still something I think about all the way back home in Austin. She is an amazing instructor and I wish her the very best in life!
She’s the best.
Rebecca has a beautiful and soothing voice, and is skilled at creative sequencing. Great class!
Super energising class with a good balance of strengthening, stretching and relaxing.
Rebecca is amazing! So calming and her descriptions of the poses throughout class have greatly improved my yoga practice. Plus, this studio (and it’s view) is gorgeous!
Gorgeous studio, great instructor, challenging flow! Favorite yoga I’ve done in SF
I really enjoyed this class! The studio is gorgeous and the instructor led a challenging, but still reasonable pace class! Would come back!
Beautiful space, wonderful teacher
Solid vinyasa class and instructor
Rebecca was great and the class hit a good balance of workout and vinyasa.
The most glorious studio I’ve ever been to, and a great class. Thank you!!
Amazing class!
Rebecca is an awesome teacher, and I love her flows. I'm in Arizona right now so it's nice to join remotely.
I love that Rebecca explains the different ways to deepen or hold a pose, how your body should feel in the pose, and how to activate different muscles. It makes her class approachable and consistently reminds me what I can achieve to get the most out of her flows.
Hands down one of the best instructors I’ve practiced with.
A much needed practice and it was perfect. Thank you so much.
Always enjoy Rebecca’s class. Vinyasa series picks up in speed, which is a lovely challenge and preferable for myself. Be ready to break a sweat for that. Great music and flow overall. Very welcoming environment.
Excellent instructor - measured tempo and highly professional.
Best yoga class I have had in a long time, the studio is beautiful and the people that work there are lovely
Best yoga class of my life! Love this instructor!
Newly renovated studio is beautiful and Rebecca is a perfect balance of meditation, breath awareness, kick your ass ab routine, satisfying flow, and relaxing wind down. She is gentle and wise and wonderful- can’t recommend enough!
Really enjoyed the class and instructor
Such a wonderful and restorative class. I could not be more thankful!
I love class with Rebecca! She has beautiful energy that is open, caring, authentic, and nurturing. I appreciate how she checks for injuries and requests before class. Her sequencing and instruction is grounded and intentional, which I appreciate in a teacher. Also, she had the most beautiful voice when she sings!
What a treat to be in this beautiful and soulful studio again and be guided by one of the masters. Always leave her classes feeling grateful and a little more knowledgeable about the practice and my body. Thank you. I found "new room" in my shoulder. I will carry that cue (and hug) with me for a long time. The studio feels warm and inviting from the moment you walk in. Thank you.
Amazing instructor, fun class. Highly recommended
Rebecca is incomparable. Her class is always, 100% percent of the time, a highlight of my week. Always different, always fun, always positive, always authentic.
